Join us for a volunteer day!

Volunteer days are a great way to give back, meet other members of the community who enjoy volunteering and gardening, and experience the therapeutic effects of spending time in nature.  No prior gardening experience is needed to participate, and everyone over the age of 18 is welcome regardless of your affiliation with UC Davis.

Event details

Our May Volunteer Day will take place from 8:30 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, May 9. We will be weeding, mulching and planting in the Arboretum GATEway Garden!

Meeting Location

We will be meeting under the grape arbor in the center of the garden. Although this garden is located very close to the Davis Commons Parking Lot, please do not park there! There is a 2 hour limit and the city does not want Arboretum visitors to use this lot. The closest campus parking is in parking lot 10, a pleasant 3-minute walk west through the Australian collection. There is ample bike parking near the shovel sculpture in this garden.

Other volunteer opportunities

If you wish to volunteer with the Arboretum but feel this event may not be for you, please check out our other volunteer opportunities.
