Authors' Talks: From Palm Fronds to Fish Fins

Jason Dewees, author of “Designing with Palms”, and Chris Dewees, author of “A Life Among Fishes”, will team up to talk about their respective passions that integrate nature with art.

Jason, staff horticulturist at Flora Grubb Gardens, will share his extensive knowledge of palms worldwide and offer essential information on choosing, using and caring for palms in a designed landscape.

Chris, UC Davis Marine Fisheries Specialist Emeritus, will share tales about his journey and growth in 50 years of making fish prints using the Japanese art of gyotaku.
