Join us at the CALL Garden (Climate Adaptation Living Lab)— just east of the Arboretum Teaching Nursery — for a unique exhibition where art meets entomology. On display are 8.5" x 11" prints created by UC Davis design students, reimagining WWII and Cold War-era propaganda poster styles that highlight insects in our ecosystems.
Stroll through the garden to see the posters displayed alongside the CALL Garden's large-scale murals — 15' by 5' high-relief pieces created by students in Dr. Emily Meineke's entomology class, "Art, Science and the World of Insects," in collaboration with UC Davis Distinguished Professor Emerita Diane Ullman, co-founder of the Art/Science Fusion Program, and community volunteers.
The murals are part of a four-mural project representing a cross-section of California's landscapes, from the coast to the Sierras, and their imagery reflects the CALL's research into how shifting climate conditions are changing the relationships between insects and plants. Learn more.
