Arboretum Friends Celebrated as Chancellor's Laureates
Friends of the UC Davis Arboretum, our community support organization, was recently recognized as one of the university’s leading donors and included in the inaugural group of Chancellor’s Laureates. Laureates are individuals and organizations who have each cumulatively donated $1 million or more to university programs.
In an interview with Dateline, the campus publication for faculty and staff, Chancellor Larry Vanderhoef said that each of the laureates has made a significant impact on society by helping UC Davis fulfill its public mission.
Meg Stallard, 1968 alumna and the chair of the UC Davis Foundation board, emphasized the generosity of the laureates in joining with the university to meet its public service goals: "This is visionary philanthropy on the part of individuals, foundations and organizations who understand the value of higher education, appreciate the important role it plays in society, and believe in the university's mission of public service."
