Join the Sustainable Horiculture Learning by Leading™ internship team to get hands-on experience pruning, installing irrigation, propagating plants and more.

Internship Details

  • This internship is a full-year commitment 
  • Interns will meet around 3 hours each week for the entire school year 
  • During the fall quarter, interns will meet Tuesdays 2 p.m. to 5 p.m (First session: September 29th, 2026). Timing will be more flexible during Winter and Spring quarters 
  • Students can earn 1 unit per quarter for being a part of this team.

This internship is about converting our campus into a model for environmentally sustainable horticultural design. If you are a student who's interested in getting their hands dirty, thinking critically about eco-friendly landscaping, and enjoy working as a team, apply below! No experience in horticulture required, but is a plus! All are welcome!

 

About the Sustainable Horticulture internship

Throughout the year interns will learn essential skills related to sustainable horticulture, including planting, pruning, garden design and installation, irrigation design and construction, path building, garden maintenance, plant propagation, and much more! Interns will also learn about a variety of landscape plants, mixing California natives with others from around the world that are suited for our changing climate. As part of the Learning by Leading program, leadership and collaboration are also an important component of this internship.
