Community Volunteer Day

Volunteers gather autumn leaves

Event Date

Location
UC Davis Arboretum Teaching Nursery

Join us for a day of giving back to nature and the community while experiencing the therapeutic effects of spending time outside! No prior gardening experience is needed to participate. Everyone over the age of 18 is welcome. It's a perfect way to come together with fellow outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy some fresh air and exercise while helping beautify our beloved landscapes.

Our February volunteer day will focus on planting a new screening hedgerow alongside the fence of the Arboretum Teaching Nursery. Nearby, the Arboretum will be hosting activity stations associated with Biodiversity Museum Day and we encourage volunteer day participants to check out the festivities after volunteering while they are still on campus.

Register today!

Gardening tools as well as light refreshments provided. Close toed shoes are required. Pants and a long-sleeved shirt are recommended. Please wear clothes you are comfortable getting dirty and bring gardening gloves if you have them. Loaner gloves will also be available for the day.

Can't make it on Feb. 10? Sign up to hear about future volunteer opportunities.

Food for thought:  If you are hoping to organize a volunteer event for a larger group or organization, please contact Kitty Bolte, GATEways Horticulturist, at khbolte@ucdavis.edu to discuss options that might work for your group.
