Field Trial Monitoring Results
Fair potential utility as an urban tree based on evaluation of 3 trees, slightly unhealthy crown, 100% survival, slow growth rate. Branch and leaf dieback on all individuals. This species did poorly in the nursery; likely due to sensitivity to boron and high pH irrigation water. Transplanted plants started off in poor condition. One individual was lost to rodent herbivory and another was accidentally mowed but is now in very good condition.

We got mediocre germination with acorns planted in the fall.
