Create and celebrate at Pollinator Discovery Day

What’s all the buzz about pollinators? Find out Sunday, May 20 from 1–4 p.m. at “Pollinator Discovery Day” in the UC Davis Arboretum’s Hummingbird GATEway Garden (located just north of the Arboretum Teaching Nursery on Garrod Drive). Attendees at this free event will learn about a variety of pollinators including bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, how the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden supports their habitat needs throughout its campus landscapes and how everyone can to do the same at home.

For the first time, the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden will be participating in the city of Davis’ 2nd Friday ArtAbout Friday, May 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Arboretum GATEway Garden, located behind the Davis Commons Shopping Center.

Dedicate a tile in Nature’s Gallery Court

Looking for a unique way to honor a graduate, pay tribute to a loved one or commemorate a special occasion? Dedicate a tile in Nature’s Gallery Court, the Arboretum’s iconic mural wall depicting flowers and insects found in our water-wise gardens. Nature’s Gallery Court is located at the west end of the Arboretum, near the Arboretum Teaching Nursery.

UC Davis Arboretum receives TripAdvisor's 2018 Certificate of Excellence

The UC Davis Arboretum and the UC Davis campus both received TripAdvisor’s 2018 Certificate of Excellence. Now in its eighth year, the achievement celebrates destinations and businesses that have earned great traveler reviews on TripAdvisor over the past year.

“With the Certificate of Excellence, TripAdvisor honors destinations that have consistently received strong praise and ratings from travelers,” said Heather Leisman, Vice President of Industry Marketing, TripAdvisor. “This recognition helps travelers identify places that regularly deliver great experiences.”

UC Davis second-year veterinary medicine student Shakuntala (Shak) Makhijani has always loved nature and animals, but only recently has she started producing breathtaking photos of hummingbirds in their natural habitat at the UC Davis Hummingbird GATEway Garden.
