Student Art on Display in the Arboretum GATEway Garden through June 19

Installation Highlights First-Generation College Student Experiences

Students from UC Davis’ spring quarter First Year Seminar Make an Exhibition: First-Generation College Student Experiences, created a display in the Arboretum GATEway Garden and all are welcome to visit! Students were assigned to produce a collaborative, temporary exhibition around the themes of family and tradition, community, discoveries, and challenges.

If you make your way to the UC Davis Arboretum arbor anytime from now through June 20, you will find four installations – a community map of UC Davis symbolizing discoveries, a felt flower installation symbolizing student growth, an organza quilt symbolizing family, and a loteria card installation with images of UC Davis landmarks symbolizing community – as well as five didactics to explain the exhibition, installation concepts, and highlight the students involved. We hope you visit the Arboretum GATEway Garden and join us in celebrating these student installations!
