In addition to all the excellent work UC Davis Conference and Event Services staff does to market the university both locally and nationwide, they saw an opportunity to further establish the campus as a favorite venue for brides and event planners by organizing the ‘Weddings and More Special Events Showcase’ at Freeborn Hall on March 4th. The event drew 530 attendees and 65 vendors from photographers and florists to rental companies and caterers.
This event has not only increased the number of brides booking wedding reservations on campus, it has also served to further establish the university as a visitor-friendly location, as well as remind related businesses of the picturesque venues and services we offer. In light of major budget cuts, Conference and Event Service’s ability to create new business models while continuing to support the Chancellor’s Vision of Excellence is remarkable. Congratulations to Director Lina Layiktez and her staff for their amazing work.
