Learn how to make your garden pop by choosing plants with diverse textures and shapes.

The first 75 minutes will be an easy walking tour with our staff GATEways Horticulturist Ryan Deering, as he showcases the design of the demonstration gardens at the west end of the Arboretum.

Following the walk with Ryan, you'll have time to browse and choose your own selections to take home from our extensive collection of attractive, low-water plants perfect for our region from the UC Davis Arboretum Teaching Nursery.

Class size is limited.

Cost without reserved parking: $24/person for Friends members.

Cost with reserved parking in front of the Nursery: $36/person for Friends members. Reserved parking tickets must be purchased at least 3 days prior to event start.

Parking: Attendees without pre-paid reserved parking are welcome to park in any nearby visitor lots and purchase a daily visitor permit for $9.
