Quercus arizonica, Arizona white oak is a small to medium, semi-evergreen tree. It has attractive bluish foliage has spreading branches growing at right angles to the trunk. It's highly drought and heat tolerant and gets to maximum heights in moister areas.
Allergy health hazard.
Excellent potential utility as an urban tree based on evaluation of 3 trees, healthy crown, 100% survival, very fast growth rate. No signs of pests or diseases found. These plants are likely hybridized with Quercus grisea.
We got no germination with seed collected this trip and planted in October. Previous collections have had poor germination rates as well.
