This internship offers hands-on experience in caring for, planting and propagating trees. Help manage trees on campus to ensure the health and resiliency of UC Davis’ urban forest for years to come.
Internship Details
- This internship is a year-long commitment for Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters.
- Interns meet three hours a week on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Fall Quarter. Meeting times for Winter and Spring will be based on intern availability.
- This is an academic internship that provides students with the opportunity to earn 1 unit per quarter.
- Interns will lead volunteers for a few Saturday tree planting events during the Fall and Winter.
About the Urban Tree Stewardship internship
Learning by Leading Urban Tree Stewardship interns will gain hands-on experience in urban forestry, technical tree care skills, and project management skills. Interns will learn how to plant, prune, and propagate trees working directly with climate research on campus in the Texas Tree Trials. The Urban Tree Stewardship team focuses on improving the longevity and resilience of the campus canopy. We welcome all applicants, regardless of experience, for this year-long program!
