Tree Campus USA

Formerly known as Tree Campus USA, Tree Campus Higher Education recognizes UC Davis as a sustainable campus since 2008. Designation from Tree Campus High Education represents a commitment to reducing energy use, maintaining a climate-friendly campus, and educating future generations about the importance of caring for the environment.  

Cool Campus Challenge Creates Shade

From April 1 through April 26 UC Davis, along with the eight other University of California campuses participated in the 2019 Cool Campus Challenge. The purpose of the challenge was to educate and inform the university community to take simple steps to save energy and reduce waste in order to lower its carbon footprint.

UC Davis has been named “Tree Campus USA” for the sixth* year in a row by the Arbor Day Foundation! The Tree Campus USA program recognizes college and university campuses that effectively manage their campus trees, develop connectivity with the community beyond campus borders to foster healthy urban forests, and strive to engage their student population utilizing service learning opportunities centered on campus, and community forestry efforts.
