The accolades continue for the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden Grounds and Landscape Services team and their 4-out-of-4 star accreditation by the Professional Grounds Management Society.
In April, Cary Avery, associate director, will be featured in the print and online edition of Facility Executive, a trade magazine for corporate facility executives. The article, a Q & A with Cary about his team’s operations, includes information about the accreditation and how they conserve resources while improving campus safety and aesthetics.
“What doesn’t come across in the article is that we are part of a larger public garden team,” explains Avery. “We concentrate on creating a beautiful, safe, welcoming campus, but it’s more than that. We work with others that specialize in sustainable horticulture, plant conservation, academic projects and programs, fundraising, and more. We’re leveraging our landscapes to the hilt! I’m so proud to see all this interest and recognition.”
