Campus-Grown Trees Transformed

When one of our campus trees needs to be pruned, or removed for health or safety reasons, the green-waste wood is either chipped and used as mulch in landscapes throughout campus, or — depending on future project needs — salvaged and delivered to a local wood miller.

We are one of nine universities in California to receive the designation, one of two Universities of California (UCI is the other), and one of 28 in the nation to have the title since its inception in 2008.
