Hello visitors! There's another detour in the Arboretum, but never fear—we've got an easy-to-follow map and signage in place to get you around the construction without any issues.

ABOUT THE PROJECT: To improve electrical power reliability on our campus and minimize the impact of a major power outage on campus, UC Davis is adding a new transformer to an electrical substation located south of Interstate 80. Although the substation is relatively far away, the construction going on in the Arboretum, near Putah Creek Lodge, is part of this utility improvement project.

DETOUR INFO: As you walk along the north side of the Arboretum Waterway, near Putah Creek Lodge Drive, signs will direct you to cross over a land bridge and continue your journey on south side of the Arboretum Waterway for about 100 yards or so. From there, continue on to your destinations on the west end of the Arboretum. This detour will only be in place through January 2020.

ADDITIONAL DETOURS: The Arboretum is also affected by other projects including La Rue Road Bridge Replacement Project (which can be seen in the red shaded area on the map). For more information on detours, visit our webpage or subscribe to The Leaflet for updates!
