Give to our Trees for Tomorrow campaign April 19-May 2!
Your donation will help us establish a more climate-resilient tree canopy across the UC Davis campus and provide support for the student environmental leaders central to the work. Learn more and give today!
Staff from across the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden organization gathered together with our volunteers to fill in native grass plantings at our California native plant meadow. Located adjacent to the School of Veterinary Medicine’s new student services and administrative center – scheduled for completion in July 2016 – this area will also be home to an events lawn, café, restroom, as well as the future site of our pollinator and hummingbird demonstration gardens.
“Learning by Leading” Habitat Restoration and Naturalized Lands Management interns have completed a multitude of projects across campus focused on the provision of native wildlife habitat and the improvement of our campus stormwater quality.
Fill your lawn-free front yard with selections that not only have less-than-lawn water needs, they also perform well in our region, look great, and benefit our ever important pollinators!
Now, as landscapes are being revamped due to the drought, and lawns are removed or let go, the UC Davis campus, the city and its residents are in a position to serve as an example of how urban areas — particularly urban areas in the heart of agricultural country — can support global crop production through small changes in landscape choices.
Thanks to our hardworking Arboretum and Public Garden Grounds and Landscape Services team, UC Davis has been named "Tree Campus USA" for the eighth year in a row by the Arbor Day Foundation!
Thank you Davis Ace for providing these discounts to members of the Friends of the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden. In addition to these offers, our members always receive 10% off Davis Ace’s supply of Arboretum All-Stars.
